 HE NEW YEAR Note new date and arrangements for the October Monthly Run. Th
 e Springtime Run is from Tharwa to enjoy a half hour 30 km drive on sealed
  roads to a picnic together at the Orroral Valley Space Tracking Station S
 ite Just 28 km south from the restored Tharwa Bridge is a beautiful pristi
 ne valley for members to celebrate here our Aussie bush country air in spr
 ingtime. No fuel is available there. The plan is to bring us together to 
 enjoy a tasty sausage sizzle at a special remote location. The attached m
 ap is a good guide to the Tracking Station Site and it fills the gap in GP
 S navigation when in the valley. Gather at 11.30 in the layby on the west 
 side of the Bridge. Bring your favourite sausages, bread, any other tasty 
 trimmings and some picnic gear. Seen in the attached photo is a shelter c
 ontaining four large table settings, two electric BBQs and there\'s an eas
 y walk to good toilet facilities. The Naas Rd road leaving from Tharwa is 
 sealed. As usual there are a few potholes but an observant driver can avoi
 d them. Once across the Gudgenby River Bridge the only motoring challenge
  is Fitzes Hill. It\'s a longish climb best managed in second gear in any
  elderly MG, however an MGB does it in 3rd. About 3 kms afterwards turn r
 ight into Apollo Rd. Please be prepared to carefully slow down when you ap
 proach the one cattle grid at the entry into the National Park. It\'s an
  easy 8 km scenic Journey from there to the destination. Please confirm to
  me your intention to join the Sunday Run by Saturday 25th October so that
  next mornlng I may anticipate your arrival at Tharwa. Peter Dalton Social
